Donald, D for short, learned his barbeque secrets from his mom and dad. He continued to add all the family secrets he learned over the years from aunts and uncles and took the best from each and created his own, unique style of barbeque. Beginning at his uncle’s butcher shop at 36th and Nicollet in Minneapolis, MN, about 14 years ago, D was introduced to the world of food and it was a match made in heaven. D perfected Smoke-in-D’s BBQ. It’s his process. It’s the rub. It’s the passion. All meats are hand cut, hand cleaned, and hand rubbed then smoked to perfection for no less than 4 to 5 hours. Home-made recipes served with mild and spicy sauces crated over many years. In 1997 Jo Mama’s Kitchen was opened in St. Paul inside the Minnehaha Lanes Bowling Alley featuring sould food cuisine for your Sunday dinner any day. When the lanes closed, Smoke-in-D’s began and has been making better BBQ ever since.
